Its 19th century urban landscape is criss-crossed by wide boulevards and the Seine River. / Climb the Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower is a 300 metre high iron construction that was created for the 1889 Paris Universal Exhibition. It is currently the most representative symbol of the city. Except for those who suffer from vertigo, climbing the Eiffel Tower is a unique experience practically obligatory for all visitors to Paris.

It is possible to access the tower both by elevator and by stairs, although before deciding on the second option it is necessary to know that there are 1,665 steps.

/ Visit the cathedral of Notre-Dame

Built between 1163 and 1245 on the Île de la Cité, the Cathédrale de Notre Dame is one of the oldest Gothic cathedrals in the world. The name of the cathedral means Our Lady and is dedicated to the Virgin Mary.

Notre Dame has two 69 metre towers on its façade. To visit the towers you access through the entrance on the left side of the cathedral and climb 387 steep steps on foot, as Notre Dame does not have an elevator.

As a tip, the best option is to get up early and arrive before 10 a.m. to be one of the first in line. It's really slow and during the day it can last more than two hours. .

/ Admire the Arc de Triomphe

The Arc de Triomphe is, next to the Eiffel Tower, the most representative monument in Paris. With dimensions of 50 meters high and a base of 45 by 22 meters, the Arc de Triomphe represents the victories of the French army under Napoleon.

Although its height is much lower than that of the Eiffel Tower, the views from the top of the Arc de Triomphe are just as impressive. The views of the Champs Elysées and the Quartier de la Défense do not detract from the climb either.

In order to enter the interior of the arch and climb to the top, it is necessary to pay an entrance fee and climb the 286 steps that separate the terrace from the ground. Inside you will also see a small museum and information about its construction.
